FIRST WEEK EXPERIENCE AT ZURI

The first week of the Zuri training was splendid but before moving on to tell you what happened, I would like to state that I’m a SIWES student. Having had a tough time trying to find a place to attach for my SIWES came Zuri training and I didn’t even know that they had SIWES students into consideration. I was not just happy when I got to the slack workspace and saw SIWES channel, I was goggled and I couldn’t wait for the program to start already

The first week of this training was used for orientation. There the team explained a lot of things about the program to us. We got to meet some of our mentors ( both career mentors and tech mentors). Are you surprised? Career mentors? Yes the team went as far as getting us career mentors .

Briefing us about all the tracks available in the program to enable pure newbies to make a decision on which track to follow was another amazing act of the team .Thank you zuri team

LMS. What is it? Calm down, I’m still here . It means learning management system and not last man standing. The Zuri team is going to be using the LMS to track all intern progress so it is expected that all interns sign up at the zuriboard. How the board operates was explained to us.

How can I forget to mention that the Zuri team is working with ingressive4good to bring all this goodies to us.

The program is going to last for 4 months. The first two month is for training while the second is for projects. There is a criteria for making it to the project phase .

Back to SIWES.

The Zuri team is giving special attention to SIWES students and also made provisions on how to get their logbooks signed.

My expectations are high and the team is wonderful. It was a fulfilled week and I look forward to every other week of the training
